A PLACE THAT OBLIGES
A place where today Warsaw's Wola is bustling with life, was very important during the Warsaw Uprising. It was here, in the then Warsaw Breweries, that many of those wounded found a shelter and it was here that a command post for the fighting in the area was organised. The grain warehouses of the brewing company became the "granary of the uprising", and under the walls of the Breweries every day the residents of the city came for "spit soup", about which you will read more on our website.
Warsaw Breweries has been supporting the memory of the Warsaw Uprising for years. We have made commemorative videos with the living heroes of those days, and a historic plaque honouring the insurgents has returned to Warsaw Breweries. Their heroism deserves to be eternally remembered, and that is why on 1 August at 5 pm we will gather here to be respectfully silent and thoughtfully repeat the words we owe them: Honour and Glory to the Heroes.
