Hashtagalek photography exhibition at Warsaw Breweries
Until December 12, visitors can admire an exhibition of photographs by Aleksander Małachowski, known in social media under the pseudonym Hashtagalek, along the pipeline near the woonerf of Haberbush and Schiele. The works are dedicated to the historical interiors of the Dom Słowa Polskiego, which will soon undergo revitalization as part of the Towarowa 22 project.
Hashtagalek's photographs document the interiors of Dom Słowa Polskiego, the largest printing house in Poland during the PRL era, which will soon acquire new functions under the Towarowa 22 investment, carried out by Echo Investment, AFI Home, and Archicom Collection.
The entire multifunctional project Towarowa 22 aims to recycle not only ideas but also materials and existing elements to the greatest extent possible. From repurposed spaces, a new, vibrant part of the city will emerge. Upcycling will give old materials a new life, preserving not only details like the cobblestones made from the historic hall's aggregate but also the large beams that will form the basis of multi-level gardens.
- This project was exceptional in several respects. For the first time, I photographed not only the investment and its construction but also the raw object – Dom Słowa Polskiego, just before the work began. The session involved wandering through deserted halls and corridors filled with history. Industrial spaces and objects from the past turned out to be incredibly photogenic, as seen in the photos. After two years, I returned to capture the construction, where the skylights and raw concrete create an ideal photographic combination. I invite you to view the gallery, which showcases 10 years of my work - says Aleksander Małachowski.
Aleksander Małachowski, Hashtagalek – an architectural photographer, Master of Arts, and co-creator of the ProjektFotografia.pl course. He is the author of the renowned work "Polska Gościnność," a symbol of solidarity between Poland and Ukraine, and a graduate of the Faculty of New Media Arts at PJATK. In his works, he simplifies reality through perspective shortcuts and long-focus lenses.
