Historical Tour of Browary Warszawskie
Browary Warszawskie invites you to the second to last historical walk organized this year in collaboration with @PoWarszawsku. The event will take place on September 6th at 5:00 PM and is the rare opportunity to learn more about the roots of Warsaw’s brewing tradition.
By the 18th century, Wola already smelled of malts, and old records indicate that there were as many as 10 breweries on Grzybowska Street alone. In the quarter occupied today by Browary Warszawskie, at Krochmalna 61, the Stencel Brothers Brewery was operating, and in the first half of the 19th century, small wooden structures of Ludwik Suchocki’s brewery were established. On this very site, in 1846, one of the most important breweries in Europe was founded – Haberbusch, Schiele, and Klawe Brewery. Its rich heritage was later continued by the Royal Breweries, and beer production persisted almost uninterrupted until 2004.
During the walk, participants will have the chance to explore historic corners of the breweries, hear stories about the families that contributed to the prominence of this place, and learn how industrial successes from the past influenced the modern shape of this space.
Participation is free, but prior registration is required via the following link: https://forms.gle/7Q1cciMfjQLAJsPw5
