TISZ Festival: History in a mug – Tour of the Warsaw Brewery
As part of this year’s TISZ – Jewish Food Festival, a tour of the Warsaw Brewery will take place on October 19, where beer is still brewed today. This event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the brewery’s historic spaces and delve into the culinary traditions of old Warsaw.
While strolling near today’s Grzybowska Street, take a moment to remember that Wola wasn’t always a modern business center. Before World War II, it was a bustling industrial district where brewing played a central role. Walking through the streets and green spaces of the Warsaw Breweries today, you can catch the aroma of freshly baked bread and freshly ground coffee. You’ll also learn about the contemporary beer brewing process. This unique tour of the Warsaw Brewery will be led by Agnieszka Kuś—a historian, Warsaw enthusiast, writer, guide, museum educator, and vlogger associated with the POLIN Museum.
