LET'S CELBRATE WOLA'S TRADITIONS TOGETHER 23-25 SEPTEMBER
Beer has been brewed in Warsaw for over 500 years and Wola used to be the main beer brewing hub of the capital. At industry's peak, in 19th century, Grzybowska street alone hosted 18 breweries! The most famous of them all – Haberbusch & Schiele Brewery (a new street in Warsaw has been named after these two – the woonerf running across the modern Breweries) rose to global fame. Not many people know that Warsaw owes its beer gardens to those two gentlemen! Their beer inspired awe all over the world up until the 20th century.
And then … well. The last keg was brewed in Warsaw in 2004. And Wola's proud tradition could have easily been forgotten, had it not been for Warsaw Brewery, which opened its own brew house in July 2021, kegging 18 different kinds of craft beer. The memory of this honourable tradition needs to be upheld!
